Went in the bar at the back which seems more lounge like. Was deserted and got a dreadful pint in here which I left. No atmosphere and rubbish ale.

Tried this pub after the Motor hoose. It is a bigger place (busier) with a large food menu. It burnt down a few years ago, so as you can imagine, very limited in character. I was told this is the best pub in Kirkwall- nothing special.

reasonable place, nice fire, good shelter from the constant rain.

Visited it a couple of years ago before the fire and now again - and I'm happy to say it's unchanged in atmosphere and quality. One or two snuglike area's where locals meet and further seating next to the bar. Do try the food - they have a chef who combines tradition and innovation in a thrilling way. Two real ales from the isles on offer; the Scapa Special here was the best of the three Orkney outlets where it's served.

Reopened after fire, but even more AVERAGE than before

Nice cosy bar, good crack. The sooner it's rebuilt the better i say!

Unluckily, this burnt down last year, but it's being rebuilt. It was always a good laugh to go to while it was up, though. Very good selection on the jukebox, too.

Orkney ales on handpump in this annex to the Albert Hotel. Most pub looking bar we found in Kirkwall. Several TVs scattered around
