Public bar attached to Stromness Hotel. One real ale Scarpa Special which was rather tired. Full of local fishermen and other characters.

Yes, better than it looks from the outside. At least one reasonable ale (though stronger than I usually take).

Reasonable bar that is to the right hand corner of the Stromness Hotel. Has a local bar feel to it and a few indecipherable locals do inhabit the place along with visitors. The Duke ale they had on (only one available) was drinkable if a bit hazy (maybe due to the cold).

Not a bad pub, although no cider on draught, or card transactions (so cash only), and if you go outside for smoking, guard your drink. Great fire, but my partner felt it was a bit too scruffy, and that wasn't the decor.

Not a bad little pub. Obviously been refurbed quite recently. Only one real ale on when we visited but well kept. Unfortunately our visit was spoilt by a drunken chav 'celebrating' his birthday or would mark this place higher.

bloody hell.

Had a fairly recent lick of paint, so a little of the 'olde worlde' feel has gone, but still the best bar in Stromness by far. Always the busiest, with friendly, professional bar staff and well kept beverages.
The open fire in the winter is awesome!

awesome boozer

Serves a pint and you can challenge the banjo playing locals to a game of pool in the back room. Reasonble and cheap.

Friendly staff&good music you can choose by yourself:)The best bar in Stromness!

The crowd are a mixture of locals, tourists and scuba divers back from a day out on the boat. A decent place to sit and relax, and freindly enough - they let us bring our fish and chips in for dinner.

This small bar at ground level in the Stromness Hotel looks more like a burger bar than a pub. Instead go upstairs to the hotels first floor bar or to the Ferry Inn
