Haven't visited this pub for about 45 years so was pleasantly surprised by the changes that had taken place. Nice pub with good beer (Old Speckled Hen, Abbott) and great bar meals although you can also eat in the restaurant. Good location next to the river and far enough away from Tilbury proper to make it worth revisting.

Pleasant pub with friendly staff and regulars; decent Sunday lunch, lots of historical character, ordinary Greene King beers (no local beers). A short stroll from the excellent Fort.

Good pub and nice food

Cycled here yesterday. Nice place and beer. I pity the poor budgie in the smoking area though!

What a great pub, food is fantastic. We got a great welcome from all the staff and owners. I would recommend anyone trying it especially in the summer as you are allowed children at any time.

Windswept and handy for the Fort. Recommended for their `English Oak`ale. Landlady and staff seemed decent enough and helpful

Weatherboarded pub next to Tilbury Fort but surley landlady obviously doesn't like tourists. Served Greene King and a local brew but the latter was a bit cloudy. Standard sausage and chips menu which is reasonable value but nothing special.
