Changed hands.........If you don't mind children running around the bar and an 'uptight' landlord, this is the place for you. Gone drastically downhill I'm afraid. Give it a miss (sadly).

Fantastic little boozer. Looks like their geared up for a food 'operation', cant comment because none had been served while I was there!!! Only down side is that it's a Wadworth house, so 6X was the order of the day.....yeah, I'm not a fan. But with all due respect it was in good condition. Recommended pub. Better than the pretentious 'Plough' down the road. 8/10

pkr really should get their facts right - looking at the date of their first posting I suspect that the tarpaulin mentioned was being set up for a charity music day held on Bank Holiday Monday - I suspect the the 'car raidio' was something to do with sound checking. That was a brilliant day put on by the Brillaint owners who have not gone - they are still there and as welcoming and successful as always. If it was so awful why go back again?? Suspect again pkr is a moaning old Nancy who should stick to Toby Inns cos you can get a table there no problem on a Friday and Saturday night or Sunday lunchtime but interestingly the Cricketers is always fully booked - Now there's food for thought!!!

Returned here after getting some new tyres from a nearby village. The horrible tarpaulin has gone, hurray! No signs of the noisy owners either...perhaps they've gone too? Staff were still friendly although our choice of food wasn't great but overall the experience has improved.

The food and beer are good. The bar staff are excellent, however it's not all good news. The once nice little beer garden now has a horrible ugly tarpaulin tent in it. Also we've not been impressed by the owners who left their car radio on (windows open) to serenade us with their favourite CD. Once we moved in-doors away from the racket is was a much nicer experience. So if you want a nice out-door pub I'd avoid it, shame because it could be nice.

Get there early as it takes time to read the extensive menu. Proper real ale(only one bubble per pint). Excellent food, friendly staff and good service. First time I've used this website and it worked a treat.
