Final pub of New Year's Eve in Nuneaton for me was this Wetherspoon's. It seemed fairly small in comparison to many I've been in. That meant that toilets were frustratingly on a different level. It started off quiet, but gradually got busier whilst I was there. Ales were Oakham Bishop's Farewell, Ringwood XXXX Porter, Wolf Granny Wouldn't Like It, Roosters Yankee, Marston's Pedigree, Greene King Abbot & Ruddles Best. They also had two ciders - Thistly Cross Whisky Cask & Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon.

Not sure why I haven’t reported on this place before, because it’s one of my favourite Wetherspoons. Shows an example to some of the other branches as to how a place should be run. It’s not the largest branch, and only has 9 handpumps, but there are always 6 guest ales on, never a “coming soon” or blank clip. Often a reasonable range too – today there were several which appealed to me, I ended up with the Belhaven Burns Brown Ale and Sadlers Mud City Stout – both very nice. I can’t fault the food either. I usually have a curry – and there are none of the chewable poppadoms or warm mango chutneys you see elsewhere.
The place is light and airy, and the clientele is reasonable and friendly (none of the lowlifes that other branches seem to attract). Staff are attentive, and tables are kept clean. The barmaids are quite nice as well – including the obligatory redhead !
7/10 – about as good as it gets at Spoons.

Popped in for a burger and beer on Boxing Day during impromptu shopping trip. Perfectly adequate for what it is - i.e. a dependable last resort. Pint of Bombardier in decent order.

Sometime meet an old friend here for lunch as it's about halfway on the train between where we both live. Nice pub, daytime staff are excellent. Beer choice always interesting, food is good and arrives quickly. Does tend to be patronised by pissed pensioners, but now that I are one I don't care ! They're all totally non-threatening anyway.
Got told off last time for taking our beers outside when we went for a smoke - our fault, not the pub's - but a very nice young lady took them back to our table for us. Also once stood in the gents listening to someone singing "Me & Bobby McGhee" in one of the traps - and he forgot the words ! Criminal, lol !

We just love it here. It's a bit like JFK Airport (you'll always see someone you know). We particularly love the big barman with the spikey hair and massive grin (young Tom).

Nuneaton is not blessed with good hostelries so by default I tried the Felix Holt. Still has that Wetherspoons 'pub for sad people' feel about it but was pleasantly surprised to find Altons Triple F (in good order too). Staff were helpful and friendly although it was another quiet midweek night in Nuneaton.

Pretty ordinary 'spoons, but with a good selection of Real Ale festival beers on at 1.55 per pint (including the interesting, hoppy California Pale Ale) one really can't complain too much.

Got to be honest this is probably one of the best pubs in the town centre. The beer is well kept at 1.65 for a guest beer and you arnt waiting long for food. I use this pub regulary when i can it is better than yates over the road.

A typically uninspiring Weatherspoons pub. Beers and lagers are well kept but the food is pretty dire even for a Weatherspoons pub! Cod & Chips looked as though the cat had played with it and the filled baguettes were like chewing an old training shoe. Having said that service was friendly and staff were quick clear away glasses and dirty plates

Large Pretty Average Spoons, 7/10

It REALLY smells of vomit in he Felix, and has done for about two years! Nothing has been done to solve this problem, its as if theres been a bucket of sick lying in a corner somewhere and no-one has bothered to get rid of it. The smell is worst by the bar, and due to the massive queues on a weekend, you could be standing in it for quite some time.

First time i've been to Nuneaton and only went for the local brewpub festival. Visited here and for 1730 on a saturday afternoon it was fairly quiet. Beer was OK and at 1.49. It's also got A/C and at 80-85 degrees outside was much needed. Luvly.

Where else can you hear drunken people singing at 12.30 in the afternoon but in a Wetherspoons pub?...Seems to be frequented by people on day release from care homes. Having said that, at just 1.29 for a decent pint of Spitfire, I may as well join them.

Nice pub, varied clientele of mixed ages, a pub for everyone. This pub does not play any music as it is owned by the Weatherspoons brewery but it is still popular as a meeting place. People in the pub are generally aged over 30. Clean and tidy, but sometimes takes time to get served, just due to the amount of people that are in there. There is food in the day time. There are no pool tables, but there are two fruit machines and a quiz machine.
