Red Lion, Norwichback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Now known as the Dog House, it doesn't sell anything resembling ale although that didn't stop it being pretty busy early Friday evening. So I guess that two cocktails for £8 is the real selling point.

This was where my friends and I discovered the joys of social drinking - was Norwich's premier under-age haven back in the day. Am reliably informed that the refurbishment will be along the lines of the Festival House's transformation into Delaney's...

According to the current issue of Norfolk NIPS (no.141, May-July 2007), "refurbishment...finally appears to be going ahead. An extensive internal make-over will also see a name change to The Dog House, with an auntumn reopening possible." Not sure I like the sound of that, even if it does mean we get one of our city's pubs back. Can't comment (or rate) the pub as once was, as I never visited before it shut down.

This used to be one of my Favourite pubs in Norwich, and not many years ago, it was packed out on most nights of the week. Whatever went wrong? Why did it close? Please, please, please! somebody reopen it! Not as some plush glitzy winebar, though. No, bring back a lively, traditional pub.

Used to love this pub and had some fantastic nights in here. There used to be a good mix of bikers, art college students from across the road, and general oddballs. This was about twelve years ago or more. On recent visits to Norwich this place has been virtually empty, even on a Saturday night, which is a great shame because I want it to be a great pub again.
