Proper spit and sawdust place with great local characters to chat to over some great Bushy's ales. Ok it has its faults especially the toilet where a nice hole has been kicked into the bottom of the door to let a Manx Cat in but I've not seen it yet!

Can't deny the quality and range of real ales and the staff were friendly enough, but it's a manky place - the sort of place where you want to clean your trousers after sitting down (and even the soles of your shoes after walking on the carpet). The gent's toilet is disgusting, part of the ceiling falling down where there's been a water leak sometime in the past, mould - yuk.

My favourite pub in Douglas. Not owned by Heron & Brearley, this is a grungy locals pub with several small rooms and plenty of character. It probably won't win awards for cleanliness and some may be put off by a slightly raucous atmosphere, which spills out into the alleyway outside. But located in an area where there are several nightclubs, this is seemingly the best real ale pub in Douglas. Beers were Busheys Ruby Mild, Manx Bitter, Old Bushy Tail, Humbug A Winter Warmer & Castletown Bitter, Rudgate Viking Bitter & Green Jack Lurcher Stout. Cider was Old Rosie. You'll probably either love this pub or hate it.

I enjoyed my pint of Bushy's mild and my 2 friends confirmed the bitter was excellent.I liked it but got the feeling it has known better days.

What a great place! I was over to Douglas with my girlfriend for the TT and found this to be the jolliest place we came across. The bar staff, locals and TT folk themselves were all great company and we had such a laugh here every night. A fascinating building with lots of individual bars and a covered area outside in the spacious, cobbled alley added to its character. Excellent selection of beers and a friendly, biker kind of crowd. Set down by the marina where all our favourite pubs were found.

A pub full of character and characters, the beer was very good and niely priced. I can imagine at times it is not for the faint-hearted!

Very frienly pub down an alleyway. Several rooms and an outdoor seating/smoking area. Crowded on our various visits. Excellent juke box.
6 handpumps sering 3 Bushy's beers and 3 guests from 2.40. Prompt service despite being busy.
Well worth finding.

The Rovers Return is a very friendly pub, beer is supurb, always different real ales on, toilet needs work but i know that will be sorted in the need future. Bar staff are really friendly, lovely locals. Walking into the Rovers makes me feel like im at home.

Probably my favorite Douglas pub, great ales and very friendly, only downside can be a bit scruffy and smelly after a session.

After walking past the loud smokers gathered outside one night, I was not sure of this pub, but we went in daylight the next day and found it to be a friendly back street boozer style pub. Great choice of ales and well kept too. Enjoyed the Prospect Blinding Light and Westerham Brambling Cross.

Possibly the most varied range of beer in IOM with Britsh guests & at last..some Bushy's!! Very rough and ready pub with lots of rooms - the nicest and most quiet is actually on the way to the loo and easily missed. The loo is something out of a nightmare, I don't want to know what hides in the shadows. The disinfectant they use is nauseating - hold your bladder till the next pub. Careful of rogue nails sticking out of walls - I cut my finger on one. Dispite all that I would recommend this for the beer and the atmosphere but avoid everthing else - lol!

The real ales are very good, it has a jukebox, it has lots of different rooms. The toilets are pretty grim and have a smell of disinfectant that overwhelms probably worse smells. It was last decorated in about 1986 and the furniture has seen better days, 'friendly' locals (i.e. permanently pissed) are usually outside chain smoking. A pretty rough pub saved by the ale.

Interesting pub with lots of rooms varying in size. Nice pint of local beer. Good choice of Real Ales available.

Great little pub, good range of beers all well kept, Bushey's brewer was drinking in there one day i was in, nice chap. Definately worth a visit if you are in Douglas

Great pub serving a range of hand pulled ales, with local beers and guests from other micro's. All beers tried were in top form. Friendly & efficient bar staff when we visted. Various small rooms to choose to sit in and some games to play including table football.

Fantastic local pub, friendly staff, friendly customers, log fire in the winter and great Bushy's pints. What's not to like?

A little bit of Heaven - smack in the centre of Douglas. Few tourists know about it, but it's a Bushy's pub, so great beer is guaranteed. Lots of football memorabilia - mainly Blackburn Rovers. Recently extended, but has lost none of it's cosy charm for all that.
