Pleasant and extensive pub/restaurant with separate dining area, lounge bar and public bar. Enjoyed a very well-kept pint of Okell's Bitter. Close to Rushen Abbey and Ballasalla railway station. Well worth a look. 8/10.

The bar and the restaurant are entered through separate entrances in this pub. We tried the bar and found a large basic single room with a TV and a handful of locals. Okells Bitter & Greene King London Glory were the 2 ales. I plumped for the former and was served by a young barmaid whose maths skills were lacking. The restaurant seemed to be fairly popular, despite it being a quiet period late on a Sunday afternoon. However the bar left me feeling underwhelmed. Handy for the airport though.

Popped in for something to eat with the Missus on the second of January and was impressed with the place. Had not been for quite a while and the layout & tidyness was the first thing to get a thumbs up. The food was excellent and decent value, and there is a good amount of space between those dining and those drinking to keep everyone happy.

great pub, just started serving guest ales, customers in back bar very friendly, some will even sit on your knee.

the service is brilliant the bar staff are efficiant and smartly presented. the landlord is behind the bar working not sitting the other side. the atmosphere is very welcoming and i'd recommend it to anyone

This pub used to be the heart of the community, but strangely this was when it had some competition! ie the Poachers, the Abbey, Satellite bar etc...It now has a monopoly in the village(Ballasalla IOM). This brewery run pub has become mainly a restauraunt...and the present landlord seems to have forgotten what it means to work in the service industry. Last orders are at random except for his cronies,(and one of them being a big ranking brewery employee plus...you guessed it..off duty Police!) Service generally isnt to bad but some of the staff seem to suffer from attention dysfunctionality.

Recently refurbished, I sank a couple of jars in here before heading out for my birthday. Very nice pint, a warm cosy atmosphere for a particularly cold late September evening. The bar staff seemed friendly enough and they have an ATM machine in the pub.
