Of 17 pubs I tried on the island this weekend, this was possibly the worst. The large bar lacks character. A pool table dominates one end and there are TVs all round. Items on the wall point to the landlord being a West Bromwich Albion fan. The shirt he was wearing confirmed it. Okells Bitter & St Nick were the only 2 ales. I actually quite enjoyed the St Nick and had it a couple more times on my travels. There is a lounge that I didn't try. Most people were in the bar. I say this was the worst pub. But at another time of day and possibly with a better selection of ales, this place may be much better.

after arriving to a not so warm welcome from staff i sat and took in all i was seeing staff not over welcoming and it looked as though it was an effort for them to even serve any one even though this place was clearly not busy a lady complained (quite rightly ) to the staff that she had found a long blond hair in her food and it was not the first time that this had happened. to her and my shock was replied if your complaining when you come here why do you bother comming back and recived a very childish and sarcastic sorry in a rather pathetic and patronising voice this is a place i would never go back to and would put on my places to avoid on my site over priced for some what very basic and poor menu presentation and no so hot than warm food when delivered to your table

Large pub on the outskirts of Douglas which does look as though it is an eatery rather than pub atmosphere. Menu looked good, but we had a lot of pubs to visit, so just enjoyed the ale. Both the Okells Red amd the Rudgate Odins Raven went down well.

The food used to be really good here. Now it's microwaved rubbish. Staff are a grumpy shower too.

How this place got a good rating, goodness only knows. A modern estate eatery with zilch atmosphere but with good beer - Drink enough and its very nice Never tried their food though so could be doing it an injustice.

Large purpose built pub situated in a small shopping complex on the edge of a modern estate. Has established itself as part of the local community. Doubles as a church on Sundays prior to opening time. Has a large beer garden with views to the hills. Attempts to cater for all. Large screen TV in public bar, separate pool room and live music at weekends. Quiz nights. Has an extensive menu plus speciality dishes. Can be very busy on Sunday lunchtimes. Only downside, children are allowed to run riot around the lounge bar on Sundays. Grand pint of Okells Bitter.
