An excellent pub. Although a large open plan style with a large central bar, it was clean, well appointed and warm on our visit during the storms! Friendly staff and 8 handpumps featuring 7 well kept cask ales plus a cider. Well worth a visit.

Pub number 12 for me in Douglas and Onchan and this one was a clear step above all of the previous 11. I was relieved to finally find a real cider - Orchard Pig Navel Gazer. Ales were Okells Bitter & IPA & Moorhouses Pride of Pendle. The pub is situated on the hill, near the Parliament building. I guess this is a financial area as the pub closed on a Sunday and only opens on a Saturday evening at the weekend. Nevertheless, it was one of the busier pubs and had a nice, friendly atmosphere and a comfortable drinking environment. A pool table has been a recent addition at one end. My second favourite pub of the weekend.

Whilst on holiday visited this pub three times - it seemed to have three different drinking areas round an L shaped bar, including a "library" area. Okells beers plus a guest or two were in good nick. Quiz on Wednesday night was fun. Young bar lady was very informed and informative about the beers and a good ambassador for the pub. Well done.

Busy pub on the hill opposite the Tynwald building. Very smart and well looked after and attracts a more "up market" crowd. Friendly staff.
Okells Bitter (2.65), Alt and Old Skipper plus Elgoods available.

Definitely one of the best 'drinkers' pubs in town with a good Landlord backed up by good staff. Usually 3/4 guests on which change regulalry and the best Heineken in Douglas, which, given it is pretty common is decent praise.
Very popular on Fridays and busy enough throughout the rest of the week to give a good atmosphere. It tends to be used as a starting point for a lot of crawls around town, but I know of a good few people who have stayed well beyond their scheduled swift one. If you like proper pubs, you will like the Prospect.

This pub was quite full and seemed to be popular with office worker clientelle. Friendly enough, and we enjoyed the Lees Brassed Off. Close to the centre.

Decent real ales, nice interior with a sort of Gentlemen's club feel about it. Probably the closest that the Isel of Man gets to a London city pub with it's sometimes suited and booted clientele. A nice friendly pub to visit. Real Ale was good.

My second visit here, with three good ales on. Great pub with a retro-feeling interior especially the bit at the back which looks like you're in a stately home. My first ever taste of an IOM pub back in 2007.

good pub with wide range of real ale Manx and rest of Britain and all kept well

I was visiting Douglas last year and since this pub was close to the offices where I was conducting business, I dropped in here. The bar staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to find me a good hotel to stay in, made sure I was able to taste the local ales and filled me in on various aspects of local interest and history. the ale was excellent.
The patrons were very friendly too, and I made good friends with some of the regulars.
The location is pretty good as it is right opposite the government offices and parliament. I cant speak about the food as I only ordered a bag of peanuts. The decor is nothing extra ordinary and what you would find in most places in Birtain. All in all, satisfied - what stood out is the friendliness.

A pretty good pub half way up a steep hill.
We went on Thursday, quiz night, and it was the longest pub-quiz that I've ever entered into - a total of 170 questions!!!!
