Viewed the exterior on Sunday when closed, constructed like a masonic hall or high security arms depository, but the small bin of discarded fag ends and the presence of its shingle in good nick suggest it is operational.

Bit of a mixed bag this one, i like the benches and tables and open plan style, but it probably does cost a bit more and there are predominantly suited types in there....personally i am happy with that as i would rather have some atmosphere and some women in a bar rather than just no noise and a couple of old soaks smoking roll-ups and mumbling in the corner. Considering the island is overwhelmingly grey in nature, the people of the isle of man are easily some of the nicest i have ever met, and therefore even if the venue itself isnt ideal, the people can make it better.

Who wants to converse when 'reading the menu' takes up all your attention? Yes - the mobile bimbos could be disturbing if you favour blondes. Otherwise, there is also the IGNORE button. A glass of wine or a pint with their wedges with cheese and bacon is the supurb close to the day - I won't say week as Friday from 5pm onwards is loud and the place echoes. Luvtheplace

If you like your pubs full of cackling office girls, wannabe suits comparing mobile phones and overpriced food and beer then this is the place to go. Almost impossible to hold a conversation here as it gets so noisy. If there is a bar in hell it's something like this.

Was there tonight gambit and just a few "after workers" enjoying a snack or meal. Dunno where you get pretentious from unless you dislike mobile phones like me. The people are perfectly normal - they just don't swear.
