Sadly, there's now a planning application to demolish the pub and build a 4 storey block of flats in its place...

shut down for redevelopment to flats probably

We'd been to this pub every 6 months or so for the past couple of years since the refurb and thoroughly enjoyed it. Last week we went with family who were over in the UK for a few weeks and were very disappointed. The place is up for sale which may be part of the problem. The starters were burnt, the dinners were cold with overcooked frozen vegetables and one of the party suffered burns after being handed a scoulding plate and hot plates were placed in front of my 1 yr old daughters high chair without thought or regard for her safety.
I hope the new owners, once it's sold, can get it back to where it was.

Not the best pub in town by a long shot, but OK for a drink on a crawl. 5/10

Bushey is not renouned for a great number of pubs, but this one has to be one of the best in hertfordshire. Food is absolutly the best, at a reasonable price.
Looking for somewhere to eat, try this place, you won't be disapointed..
NB:- it's not fair from Bushey police station, so behave.

I have to agree with most of the comment about this pub, but a big negative is when they show the football. then the atmosphere in the pub changes totally.
Great food though.

Just have to say, wonderful pub, great food and very family orientated. must try at least once.
|
The menu and food is excellent, children are welcome, and there are usually two real ales on. However, the recent refurbishment tends result in divided opinions. Some say clean and tidy, others say plastic and fake. I like it.

A familiy friendly pub that has traditional ales, extensive wine list and great food. They use local suppliers and the meat comes from Hedges Farm in St. Albans where it is reared on home grown feed and is free of antibiotics, additives and pesticides. There is a large no smoking area and outside a large patio and decking area overlooking a monster piece of childrens play equipment. It has newly opened after a full refurb and so far the signs are very encouraging that Bushey now has a pub catering the all of us who want somewhere to go for a great meal with or without our children!
