Spacious family grill pub with lots of room yet unremarkable atmosphere. Two real ales on and good prices. Also they have a dart board and well positioned TVs for football. Not the most inspirational pub but functional especially for families. Staff were helpful and friendly.

This pub is now a sizzler pub which is now owned by greene king. It sells two real ales and also has a guest beer on from time to time. Beer was good in last visit.

Value food, decent beer and sport on the many tv screens. Gets plenty of trade from the surrounding areas. Nothing spectacular but you are guaranteed a friendly welcome.

New York Burger! Awesome! This pub gets its main custom through food sales like so many pubs nowadays to keep afloat. 2 Main meals for just 8 offers excellent value for money. Loads of large plasma screens around the pub makes thsi very busy especially when the footie is on.

Thed pub has recently won pub of the year from its own company. Very spacious, has the distinct advantage of two lots of toilets, always room to move. Standard Jogn Barras food. A few people meet in here to go to the John Gilbert to get crushed later on, not sure why.

Although the (fairly) recent changes externally are for the worse the inside is much better - and decent beer avaailable too. Can be quiet early on but gets busier - just about right.

Food is good, service good. Theres a lounge bar to the right which shows footy, and the main eating area is to the left. did not seem to have much atmosphere, but friendly enough. The pub have undergone a number of changes over the years, it was a Boddies pub at one time, but if you have not been for years you would not recognise it inside - I didn't.

The person before me rated this pub a 2. Why?! Come on ... admit it ... the food is quite good. I only drink bitter but there's a fair range. Bit old fashioned but clean and not unfriendly. Yep, had some good times there.
