A pretty bland spoons, the only thing worth noting is the bar is huge, very long. The ales on were- Doom Bar, Abbot, Ducks Folly by Goddards, UBU Purity, Thornbridge Jaipur IPA, Full Steam Ahead by Titanic. I went for the Ducks Folly, it was a nice pint and well kept, only problem was the price, I have posted on here about a spoons in Leeds (Cuthbert Brodrick), which did its guest beers for 2.85 minimum and I refused to pay it, well this place charged me 2.89 for the pint. The only reason I didn't do the same was because there was no indication of what the prices actually were until I paid the pint was poured. Not a bad place, spoons so if you want a drink that is better priced than other pubs than try it, but a bit too pricey for my liking.

I'd passed this Wetherspoons several times before. But I'd never before ventured in. Saturday morning was an opportunity to do this, whilst passing through Manchester city centre. It's convenient for both Piccadilly station and the main shopping area. With few other pubs open before 11am, it was predictably busy. Ales were Sharps Doom Bar, Everards Pitch Black, JW Lees Autumn Ale, Wadworth Bentspoke Braddon Bitter, RCH Return From The Ashes & Greene King Abbot. There was no real cider. The interior is typically characterless Wetherspoons. A handy place to visit when no other pubs are open. But Manchester has too many decent pubs to make this a destination in its own right.

Kristina has left wetherspoons now and moved to wave bar on oldham street now arsenal fan, you should definitely try this bar next time you are in Manchester, they have a great selection of paninis.
Quite possibly one of the worst Wetherspoons in the land! Very very rarely do I venture in. Why on God's Earth would you want to frequent this place when the Waterhouse is just around the corner? By contrast it's a million miles away just as regards the premises and standard of real ale!

Overcrowded on matchdays with United fans from anywhere but Manchester after getting off at Piccadilly station. Typical JDW pub. Handy for a swift one.
Still can't work out why its called The Manchester & County when the sign simply says Wetherspoons! It is a bog-standard 'spoons boozer with all goes with it.!
this used to be the worst spoons in manchester if not ehgland
went in mid -week afternoon was quite busy and order one of the christmas beers which was dark in colour but a good pint. most of the other people were workers and shoppers which is big improvedment of the kind customers it now attracts and now would go again if in manchester being in piccadilly gardens area of the city

An average spoons. The english beer drinker's macdonalds. But on a sunday morning at 10am with a hangover you could not fault it. Fry up and pint for a fiver. I can't knock it.
Wholly unremarkable 'spoons, and they still haven't bothered to put up the 'new' name on the facade. However, it is very handy for Manchester's main public transport links and you usually get a reasonable choice of well-kept real ale from the 12 handpumps. OK for a quick pint, but no substitute for a proper pub (of which there are quite a few within walking distance).

Know slightly more imaginatively known as The Manchester & County.

There are several Wetherspoons in Manchester and this is the worst, although the Lloyds No 1 at the Printworks is trying hard for the title. As it's on Piccadilly it attracts all the deadlegs from the surrounding area, 2 railway stations, 2 bus stations all supply their fair share of the clientele. The 99p pints of GK IPA even attracts the pondlife that couldn't afford Wetherspoon prices previously. Don't go.
Perhaps the dullest pub name in Manchester, but not too bad for a city-centre 'spoons. Very nice pint of Black Bear (a strong, dark ruby, mild) from Congleton's Bearside Brewery.

Obviously a very slow day when this place was opened as it seems nobody could be arsed to come up with a name for it! Doesn't detract from the fact, however, it's a decent place for a pint, and a good meeting place in central Manchester. I laugh when people moan about going into a Spoons expecting an above-average drinking experience and atmosphere, there are plenty of other places you can do that! This to me is typical of most Spoons outlets, and I've certainly been in worse! That said, it wouldn't probably be my first choice for a pint in Manchester city centre.

Nothing amazing 4 a spoons in the centre of Manchester but the cheap good quality ale still gets it a 7/10 in my books.

i like it very very cheap

The problem described by the previous contributor re pump clips not being turned round is a problem at many Wetherspoons pubs - why they haven't sorted this out around their estate is anyone's guess
Always been disappointed here, often handpumps are showing but when you ask for the beer, the staff say it isn't on. When challenged why then, is the pumpclip not turned round, staff say that "The policy is that only the manager is allowed to do it -- and he isn't here at te moment". Best walk over to Waterhouses, at the side of the Town Hall, te best of the 5 Wetherspoons by far in Manchester.
I wouldnt be suprised in the beer in this place grew some legs and ran off - Very ermmm 'mature' is the kindest word for it.Very rough, packed, filthy place
everyone's down here.....and eveything else.
Usually lousy service even in their current summer beer festival, and most beers are 'off'. Staff can't be bothered to change barrels 7 real ales were 'off' tonight; left with a 3.3% mild or a 5% type-lager only on draft, apart from the crap keg stuff; no real ale bitter Wethers now do not turn round the clips when their beers are gone, too embarrassing presumably as they have next to nothing apart from keg on offer
Not close to being the best wethers in the city, but recently the beers got a bit more consistent...still plenty of people in during the day for the food, you can normally tell if its moody by taking a second to check the place out when you walk through the doors.
Probably the roughest of the Wetherspoons in Manchester (the newer one on Deansgate is much better). Can be rowdy but that's often part of the entertainment. Last time I was in here the police were called and half a dozen poured out the back of a van and rushed up to the pub, only to stand outside looking through the windows. The landlord eventually went out and spoke to them and they left - wierd!!
Can get very packed at weekends, food is pretty bland reheated stuff. Typical Weatherspoons really. Cheap drinks, good selection of ales.

It is a very nice environment, apart from the microwave meals that they serve! Cheap as chips (ideal for students), good job were used to microwave lasagne (mmmmm crusty!)
