A Fullers locals pub down a side street close to one end of the high street.
Stone flagged floor, music and dart board with lunchtime food. Fullers and Gales beers on 4 hand pumps. London Pride good quality if a little cold.
Staff were friendly and customers were all involved in the darts match.

Unbelievably slow food service and when you raise it as an issue with the staff, they couldn't give a stuff.

Good range of Fullers beers but prices are a complete rip-off . A pint in nearby Wetherspoons is 1.15 cheaper.

Are Graham and Liz still running this pub, which was excellent when they took over some years' ago after moving on from their equally excellent pub in Godalming? We have moved away, so haven't been anywhere near the south for a long time now, and there is nothing on the beerintheevening website, which isn't as good as it used to be, and seems to have changed a lot. Where's Ann?

A decent enough little pub but not as good as it used to be 7 or 8 years ago.
Last time I was in the HSB was pretty lifeless (despite the barrels behind the bar the chap disappeared through a side door and returned with my pint a few minutes later, strange!) and the piped music was way too loud for a tea time drink.
Apart from the Old House this is the only Havant pub I would contemplate going in but I can't help feeling it's running the risk of becoming one more characterless town centre boozer...

Better than most pubs in the area. Annoyingly however I got localled (served out of turn in a less than favourable manner). Can be full of market traders and general riff-raff at the end of the working day. generally not as pleasant as its sister pub (The House) around the corner. George Gale ales are not the best kept.

One of the best kept secrets in Havant - A great pub! It has just been refurbished, but still has all it's charm.

Wasn't open at about 5 today (a Sunday) - is it closed permanently or did we just turn up at the wrong time?
