user reviews of the Dublin Packet, Chester

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

It’s 9.30pm on a Sunday and its pretty dead all over town but the Dublin Packet has 3 punters in plus the barman!

2 ales on the hand pumps but I opted for a punk IPA from Brew Dog. Being a keg beer it was good but a little too cold for me.

The attractive bar with original tiles compliments the original fireplace to the left of the bar.

Not a place I will rush back to as it’s pretty dull in my opinion.

oh dear, when we visited the staff took forever to acknowledge your presence and when served it was with a scowl, sorry for interupting their converstaion with friends/regulars went to the toilts and they stunk.

Not the best experience gone to the dogs, shame because years ago this was a good night out

Great food but the (too young??)manager doesn't like serving food when there's football on the (superb) big screen T.Vs and that was on Saturday lunchtime AND it wasn't very busy. There must have been a lot of disappointed visitors but he didn't deem to care. Also couldn't wait to get the pop music back on after the match (England v Jamaica) had hardly finished. His customer relation management is apalling. Won't be going back there which is a pity as loved going in there on regular visits to Chester. The brewery should get a mature manager in there. Hope he is only a stand-in otherwise a good pub ruined

A holding area for the soon to be departed. Permanently full of pensioners and the "lost on the way to the bus station" folk. Half decent juke box and handy location. Would benefit from the removal of The Shropsire a few doors down which these days quite frankly pisses on its chips.

Good pub, town centre but not on the usual circuit as looks like a locals pub.
