This is a good friendly pub bar staff are polite and friendly the landlords are lovely the function room is a great size and a great price to rent out there are no so called chavs that hang outside now in 2014 I love coming to this pub every week with my friends

It's very basic and expensive. We used to go there after work at least twice a week but stopped as it is just too dear. It's also a bit isolated with no other pubs nearby. There's also a problem with local chav children hanging about outside trying to ponce cigarettes and generally making trouble.

I agree lol but I have to show loyalty - kind of! Oh and I doubt it will be gone in three years, it has covenant on the premises that states it has to remain a pub regardless. Sorry guys, we are stuck with it! lol but agree it could be so much better.

Fair enough Longshaft81, but 3.60 for a pint of Stella is hugely excessive for what you've got. I speak frequently to the staff in the station, many of whom have lived in Albany Park for years and remember when the pub was a true community local packed out most evenings in and out, with reasonably priced beer and often hosting charitable events and pensioners outings etc. What we've got now is a virtually empty pub most evenings, below par beer, and lack of atmosphere because of lack of clientele. And it shows people are not prepared to put up with it. I bet it will be gone in three years.

I do have to put a high rating/above average, as it is my local and minutes from my door. First of all, its not a bad pub - even I used to slate it, but its not bad. The bar staff and locals are very friendly (never any trouble), the pub, although in need of redecorating out of the 70's, is big, spacious and pleasent to sit on your own in. The beer pumps are limited to Smiths, Pride and Courage Best (obviously with usual lagers) - The Best has been off before when I've had a pint, but usually everything is ok. Many of you may question my 7. As I said it is my local and there are far worse pubs in the surrounding areas. Its nice to drink in and with pubs closing every day and the government hell bent on closing what little social interaction we have, I'm all for standing up for pubs that are the safe average. This is pub is average, but not to be frowned at.

Over priced, absolutey not for non-locals.
Women should be escorted by pascifist body guards.

tucked away in a bunglelow infested suburb. big spacious pub with plenty of room. Usual selection of beers, nothing much to really write home about, but it does have a reasonable landlord who runs a tight ship. the back room is a good size and has its own bar area. a good 6.

i used to work there about 8 - 10 years ago, it was full of locals it always had a good atmosphere, especially on a sunday afternoon when all the locals got abit worse for wear! and they would all start singing to the jukebox or when england played in euro 96 thats when i first started watching football, didnt have a clue wot was going on unless we scored just used to ask the regulars. used to be friendly and pretty harmless. havent been there for ages as i have moved away but dont suppose its changed. x
