Good pint of Landlord but the crowd in there are very off putting. Lass with a fake tan tried to get it off with me but her boyfriend was watching and looked like he would commit murder. Supped up and buggered off!

Several handpumps with nothing on them, three real ales available, two from Tetleys and Golden Best, which was average. This was early Friday afternoon and although the interior was attractive, some of the inhabitants weren't and we were glad to move on

The Albert has now reverted back to being a Taylor pub. Unfortunately, there were some contractual wrangles between Ossett and Taylor. Plus, the young disruptive crowd started causing trouble again. Barely financially viable, Ossett decided enough was enough.

Excellent pint of Silver King on our Boxing day visit, one of about ten of Ossett's beers on offer. Interior has changed subtly and for the better in my view - Im sure the open fire wasn't there before. The fact that Taylor's still own the building and lease it to Ossett shows that they aren't afraid of competition - definitely a good thing for the town.

As of 16.10.08, The Albert is to be managed by Ossett Brewery. Ten real ale pumps are promised. Considering Ossett's track record and previous reviews of the pub, things should, hopefully, improve considerably.

JohnBonser, there are basically no original features at all - almost everything you see dates from a refit circa 1998. It's bedded in nicely now, though - Taylor's spent a fortune doing up their pubs, and it still shows. Before that it was a very dingy bikey/goth pub with a motorbike on the wall, oceans of lino and formica tables, in two (or three?) distinct rooms.

Old Victorian pub in the centre of Keighley, which, despite some modernising, still retains much character and original features. This is one of the numerous Timothy Taylor pubs in the brewery's home town and the Golden Best was on good form on my visit - 3 September.
Not a must visit pub, but worthy of consideration on a pub crawl of the town, particularly since the nearby GBG listed Brown Cow does not open till 4 pm, for reasons which escape me

Had the best bitter at 2 this week. Golden on too, but no Ram Tam. Big pub with Sky sports screens and a pool table (which plays very slow and needs re-covering). Nice picture on the wall showing Timothy Taylor and his descendents.

Classic town centre Taylor's pub with a U-shaped bar. Definitely one for the younger crowd, but the real ale is of above average quality.

Oh my god, what a bar!. I live in Germany and I was visiting my friend who was getting married, and the day before her wedding night we hung out here. If you've always wanted to find out what a typical Yorkshire slapper looks, lives and breathes like, come here on a Friday night!. Can't say it wasn't a laugh though. Total culture shock for me.

I agree with Quackenbush. In fact, we may even have been in on the same night. My last visit was over the 2004/5 Christmas holidays. We called in after a curry for a swift 'un before the bus back home. The clientele, as far as I could see, were lads and lasses in their late teens and early twenties, some of them barely standing, shouting to each other over the deafening happy hardcore. I've no idea if this place has improved, 'cos I ain't been back.

This HAS been 'done up' as part of Taylor's rolling refurbishment programme. I'm no fan of refurbs, but if any pub needed it, it was this one. I haven't been in for a while... last time I visited, just before closing on a monday night over the Christmas holidays it was full of people so drunk some could barely stand. I won't be back. For the record, the Taylor's refurbs were to a very high specification and are now just starting to 'bed in' a bit so they don't all look like MFI showrooms.

Unless it's been done up recently, this is a large echoing run-down Timmy Taylors pub with nothing but their great beer. There are several other pubs of theirs within walking distance. Warning to tourists: Keighley can be a rough place, and anyone not pronouncing it Keethley can have the piss taken at best.
