The Albion in Rainham is a very unfriendly place. I have been there once with my family and I will never come back there. The person in charge was very unwelcoming and had an aggressive tone. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Really gone down hill in recent months, I refuse to eat there now, many locals avoid it at all costs..try the pipe major near Dagenham east station

This pub has now been completely refurbished and the main part is very pleasant and busy. The food is good for meat eaters (which I'm not) and mainly of the "sizzling" kind, but has a few other options as well so that's fine by me. So far we have not had to wait a lifetime for our food, although I haven't been in there during a lunch hour yet. They usually have a couple of decent beers on and the staff are friendlier than they used to be. The smaller section of the pub is still more like a traditional pub with snooker table and TV. We used to avoid the place but now we go there and so far have enjoyed our visits. Not a "traditional" pub now, more a restaurant, but it's nice to have somewhere to go in an area that is a bit lacking for half decent drinking/eating places. I've given 8 out of 10 because something a little more interesting in the non meat range is needed.

The Albion Has improved greatly since Mel and Bernie took over last year i had stopped using the pub due to cleanliness and bad service often having to wait over an hour for meals that were of a poor standard. I only returned to the Albion after hearing good reviews from friends and am glad to say i gave it another chance the new managers have done a great job the place is spotless, food quick and of a great quality and the service is spot on and we are always made welcome particually by Karen the tall blond girl that works behind the bar. Good to see the place back to its best.

I went for a 2 for 1 meal with my wife last week and had to wait an hour for my food which was quite dry and our plates and cutlery didn't look washed properly. I shall not be going there again. The pub looks nice from the outside and the toilets look clean. The pub looks clean inside too but I noticed a cat going into the kitchen area which I found a bit worrying.

I used to work in the Albion and live there. The manger at the time was a drunk with no managment and people skills at all. The pub was always in a mess and the staff were under trained and over paid! The manager brought her friend in as the "assistant manager" and she was unreal a brown nose and and idiot. I tried soooo many times to turn the pub around but always had to pick the manager up of the floor after to many bottles of Piont!! I have not been in there since but i heard it is no better but as the rating on here is 2.5 out of 10 i will continue to stay well away!

latest visit yesterday!! this pub is local to where i work so i often choose to go here, not for food however! Don't miss understand me the food is actually ok and very reasonable, the problem is when you only have an hour for lunch you can guarantee that you will be back very late. for a restaurant that boasts at least (at a guess) 30 tables, they're totally unable to serve more than one at a time, and even that proves difficult, staff constantly apologizing. so do yourselves a favour, employ more kitchen staff during the day, cut your menu down (day time) so you can supply the demand. That way you will generate a greater turnover and your return will reflect this. At present you are the last resort purely because of service.

Hi Guys, I have just read all your comments with interest and found it astounding that the company allowed the pub to trade the way it did. For all of you that had a bad experience let me firstly apologize and let everyone know that I am the new manager and coming from an HM Forces background can categorically promise a different attitude and atmosphere. Give us a try and you will see a huge difference.

i am surprised that no one has commented on how this establishment is run. Surely the company that run it have had no complaints about their manager. on the 3 occasions that i have been here the manager has been totally inebriated and also on one occasion quite violent towards a customer. The filthy language that comes from her mouth i find to be upsetting, although pubs are known for such language i do not expect to hear it from a female who is in such a position. I certainly would never drink here again and haven't been there since my husband birthday on 5th August. Whoever this bar is owned by should look very closely at this problem.

i have made frequent visits to the albion, sometimes just for a drink an sometimes for a neal as well. . the food generally is quite good value. . my latest visit was on 9th july 2005 . on this ocassion we had a meal which was very nice . the pub has started to sell Stella which i am very pleased about. . as this is a family pub i feel it could do well to have a bit of a re vamp as parts of the pub look rather tired. . also some of the staff could do with some training with regards to dress presentation and cleaniness as the person who served us our meal was very scruffy in a dirty tee shirt and not very pleasant jeans, also i feel he could have done with a wash. i feel that all staff serving meals would look more presentable if they all wore the same outfit (ie white shirts and black trousers) i would like to hear your comments
