Went here for my mates wedding. I was best man. 1st time I had been here, was ok but bit pricey. Not a bar I would normally bother with but was a decent venue for the wedding.

Apart from the fact there ae some seriously smart, (though undoubtedly spoilt) young rich women frequenting the place, does it have anything else to recommend it? I think not.

Even the students are now abandoning this unpleasant, overpriced bar.

Terrible, terrible place... It'll take more than a name change and some new decor...

Just went here at the weekend on a reunion visit to Newcastle. Used to frequent this pub all the time as a student. But it is no longer "Archers", it's now called "Mr Lynch".
Quite impressed though. Still one pool table in there and now a range of some good beers. All bordering on boudoir with arty drapes and the like, but much of an improvement to the condition of the archers. Open til 2am on Friday and Saturdays too and has become more of a live venue by the looks of it.

hidden away behind a 60s/70s concrete office block. has live music on, and pool tables (which needs levelling). gets a lot of students in.

the army guy that works behind the bar is hilarious! my mate was taking the piss out of him while talking to some bloke at the bar, the bloke turned out to be the manager and the army guy? well that was his nephew, oh the fun we had that night
