This pub is a bit of a walk from Glossop town centre plus it's all uphill, but it's worth the trip. The food is really good it's an English/Thai food menu . The 3 real ales are nothing from the norm but they are on good form. The same landlord also runs The New lamp in Hadfield.

Looks like the landlord may have moved on again. But was "to let" when i walked past

A fantastic local the pub in the Whitfield area of Glossop. The pub changed hands again in early 2009 after the previous landlord fell out with the brewery. One of the new couple that took over is Chinese and they do the most amazing traditional homemade Chinese food at very affordable prices.
They also have a range of real ales on draft as well as the usual wines and spirits. Just on the edge of the moors this pub is a great place to start or end a country walk. And they have Sky and ESPN. It's my local but I wouldn't go anywhere else.

This pub has changed hands (around May/June time, i think) and whilst still not perfect, it is much inproved
2 cask ales, Bombadire and Taylor Landlord, usually kept in good condition although they sometimes seem to struggle with the Landlord.
The food is really good VFM pub grub, and the steak & kidney pie is one of the best I have tasted, although sometimes the service can be slow.
Overall, when iot is on form it is pretty good, although at the moment they are having to many off days to make it really good.

Gone downhill under new management who are clueless. Don't bother!

An uphill walk out of Glossop Town Centre but there is a bus, the 390 every half hour(no Sunday service). Guest beers & apparently very good food is served.
