Clearly an estate pub and nothing more, However despite the look of an estate pub, it served a nice pint of Gem and the barmaid, altough looking probably 20 years older that she probably is, was really nice and made us feel welcome. A very welcome stop as i was desperate for a piss! I don't think i would like to frequesnt this place on a Friday or Saturday night though

Played Darts there many years ago and popped back in again recently. Not as bad as some have made out and improving quality of beer served.

This has been my local since 1998, has had a few managers in it's time but it's still my local!!

Its the closest thing to The Grapes from Early Doors I've ever seen. On Wednesday night during the England match. Three men sat at the bar talking about the lorry driving trade, ocassionally chatting the guys watching the England match sat opposite. Round the corner a group of young England fans all wearing England shirts and tshirts watched the match on the big screen and because of the lack of sound on both screens (really should have been sorted before the match started) it was all very calm and quiet. An old couple sat in the corner were spoken to politely by the youngsters, a blind man came in for a drink with his dog who was fed beer and crisps. Everyone said hello to each other and shared their private in-jokes which caused them all to chuckle away. For what I thought would be a noisy crowded pub full of people getting hammered and chanting England! England! I was pleasantly surprised and we won too! 1-0! This isnt to say the pub probably does get rowdy at other times, and it really does need a makeover, but I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here and will definately return.

My mate told me about this site, have bypassed the Bounty for many years as of a bad reputation however have been there a few times recently as it has new owners and the atmosphere is very friendly, welcoming and relaxed. They have discos, kariokes at weekends and live sports showing, Beer is good quality Fosters, Kronenburg, and i will deffinately be here for World Cup 2006, see ya there

This pub in now under new management (since approx 4wks ago). Still needs tarting up but that is being addressed. bar staff very friendly, and doing their utmost to get rid of the old reputation. Has decent disco's and karaoke's at weekends. A good selection of good quality beer, lagers and cask. Worth giving your support to what will hopefully be a good family pub once again.

Large 1960's Veena Leisure pub in a large 1960's council estate. Hollow and tatty with rough council tenants perched on stools with their caps on backwards, fags dangling from their dumb mouths, nodding their heads monotonously to the overloud rock music. The music is so loud the bass is distorted and almost ripping the speakers, and this is only 3.30 in tye afternoon. The ceiling is "decorated" with old copies of newspapers. John Smiths on cask, otherwise all keg. Dreadful place.
