Bulls Head, Astleyback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Ember Inns establishment near the centre of Astley. It has the typical Ember Inns layout inside. But most people appeared to be sat outside on a grassy area. The ale range wasn't too inspiring - Thwaites Ember Pale Ale & Wainwright, Brains The Rev James Gold, Purity Pure Gold & Sharp's Atlantic.

A comfortable pub if you can get a seat, good range of ales, cheap but not usually well kept. Young bar staff, short measures. Good outdoor beer gardens with heated smokers corners, although smokers spoil general seating area with dimps which rarely get cleared. Food is shocking. Really bad frozen microwave type, cheap deals before five. Busy with the young crowd on weekends and in summer. Nice place to meet up or to have a pint or coffee with the newspaper early afternoon through the week. On the Leigh to Manchester bus route.

Can get overly busy at the weekends and on warm summer evenings, a lively bunch of locals frequent the pub, with many attractive ladies

Clone Ember Inn, popular with young in an area with no competition. Turn up early if you want to sit down - slave to philosophy of standing punters drink more. Nice outside area, but filled with kids n buggies in summer.
