Was a great pub to watch footy! I miss it.

Shame as I really liked this place. Was the best bar on the island to watch football.
For memories sake I am giving this place a 9!

This pub is no more.

closing down very shortly..........

Have to agree with darkness. This is for me one of the best pubs on the Isle of Dogs.
Very cheap too!

Best pub in the area, can sit outdoors, good range of beers. Prices are far cheaper than anything around and a fantastic aussie barmaid!!

I'm well chuffed with this place. Went for a pint this evening as I wanted to say a couple of things to certain members of my team that I didn't want others from the office hearing. What a revelation! Light and airy, decent range of beer, friendly enough folks, live cricket on screen and a couple of pool tables
Perhaps best of all - you could actually get served and it was pleasant. Thursday evening at any of the scrumdowns near Canada Square in this weather is unbelievable
I think I will be drinking more in here - decent joint

A lot cheaper than the City Pride, odd building only been in once during lunchtime - heard bad things about this place so tend to avoid it.

I have been going to the Heron now for the last 6 months. I never went when it was drummonds except a big match as no where else was showing sport. The place was awful. now though, I tell ya, This is the best pub on the isle. food - Top notch pub grub. Cheap and nice. Bar layout - fantastic. STAFF - I see some people have made bad comments about teh staff. And while it was Drummonds I would wholeheartedly agree. Now though, In my opinion the staf are some of the best around teh wharf. They are warm and friendly and provide a great atmosphere by having fun at their job and with the customers. In saying that what is also good is they have got rid of the old drummonds riff raff and do not put up with any s**t from anyone. If you are being an idiot they will tell you and ask you to not be or to leave. Their aim is to have everyone in teh pub having a good time it seems. And it works. In last 6 months I have seen numerous fights at the City Pride across the road yet not one at the Heron. I recommend these guys. One last thing. If you havent checked out the Karoke night you have to it is a blast. I have been going on a regular basis now each week and the place packs out and has a great fun atmosphere. Thats my two cents worth. Keep it up guys.

Been drinking here 3 years, drummonds was awful Never knew what to do with the place and the last manageress just sounded like she was high all the time.
Since the new management took over the atmosphere has improved tenfold, cheap drinks, cheap food and stunning views :)

The only pub I know where the barman/landlord decides to have an afternoon nap around 3.00pm - on one of the benches in full view of all the customers. Billy Bunter decides on the type of food you would like, when going to order a humous salad,my friend was told 'you won't like that'. However, the food is good and the beer is cheap, not much else going for it I'm afraid.

This pub has now changed management since the last comment and is now called The Heron. It's a fantastic pub now with great food, 2 pool tables, 2 big screens and a plasma tv to watch the footy. It has a great atmosphere when the footy is on and the service has been great every time we've been there. They have done some renovations to the place with more seating now and the menu it just good pub grub!

Decided to try out this pub for the second time as its one of the few about Canary Wharf with 3 pool tables. Cheap pints and terrible service. The first time we tried this pub was to watch a football game on the big screen. It was 20 deep at the bar with almost nowhere to stand, which in itself is no big problem, but there were 2 bar staff on for that night with one serving food. We left at half time after trying for 20 mins to get served at the bar. Our second trip to this pub ended at 10:15pm, not because we wanted to leave but the 'owner / bar man' decided to close! We thought he was joking but no. 10:15 all out! He trufed about 20 people out! I couldnt believe it as I've never seen ths before. I'll never go back to this pub, there are plenty of better, friendlier, safer pubs aroung Canary Wharf that dont close whne the bar man feels like it. I agree with kiwi13's comment but at least he got to stay till 10:45!! If its under new management then IO'm glad I wasnt in it when the old management was running it! AVOID!!!

I just logged on recently and noticed a couple of reviews immediately after my own. From what I can see it seems to be the manager (this is definitely not a 10 pub as reviewed by this individual). I used to frequent Drummonds reasonably often, just because they were reliable in showing sport and they had cheap pints. Now I make the effort to go anywhere else, even though this involves a DLR ride. The previous management were apathetic and reasonably hopeless. The new management (especially the manageress) are unreasonable and rude. I have compiled a list of things to expect when visiting Drummonds. DO expect to be asked to leave if you are wearing anything that could be deemed sports apparell. DO NOT expect to be served quickly. DO expect rude and aggressive staff. DO expect for sport to be switched off before the game is finished. DO expect to be asked to leave without warning at 10:45 (apparently thats the law). DO expect to be threatened for the police to be called if you do not comply with the 10:45 rule. If you want a quiet pint go to the City Pride across the road. If you want to watch sport try the Lord Nelson, the Rogue Trader (neither ideal) or somewhere further afield.

My favourite pub in Docklands so far, just moved to the area and we have been here a few times to watch the Premier League games live on the big screens there, always manage to have a good view, a cheap drink and a couple of games of pool aftewards for a cheap 1 quid per game. We will be back soon to try the meals, they have a lunchtime special where you get a free drink with certain mains, definately worth trying I think.

A modern looking pub, view over the canal, cheap pints (especially this close to Canary Wharf) and a few pool tables. Sound good, well it should be good, but unfortunately the service is rubbish, no atmosphere, food crap when they bother serving and an average local crowd frequenting. I would give it a 2 but it has one redeeming feature (apart from the cheap pints), they show live sport on two huge screens including pay per view. If you want to watch a game its a good place to go in docklands.
