This Pub has reopend - its got everything i want in a pub friendly good jukebox great bands on and open mic nites etc for the music fan who loves to sing to covers or even come and do there own thing at the open Mic Nite - they even have a house band (The Rythons) I used to go to the Hornblower for 7 odd years now this Pub is my real local - the Landlady Irene is warm and friendly and has done a great job getting this pub back on track
for me the best pub in Newport and ive done them all ! give it a try and ask for Jon if you come in on a thurs fri or sat Ill say hello !

This pub has suffered in the recent past, but with a new landlord and the re introduction of real ale it is hoped it can begin a new chapter.

this pub closed for a while and looked unlikely to re open, but stopped to chat to a young lady painting the main door who told me it is due to open in a few weeks, will be checking up.

Lovely little pub off the main drag, regular live music, the landlord is a big blues fan by all accounts. one real ale, well kept.
