The Exchange is a typical old-school Wetherspoons. But it was actually my second favourite pub in Banbury. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday evening. It took a while to get served, despite me being the only person waiting. Ales were Marstons El Dorado, Hawkshead Vienna Lager, Wadworth Bibock, Batemans Dark Lord, Ruddles Best, Fullers London Pride, Hook Norton Hooky Mild, Brains The Rev James & Purity Saddle Black. The cider on tap was Westons Old Rosie. But they may also have had an Orchard Pig cider in a box in the fridge. Managed to get a booth, which generally seemed to be taken in most 'spoons.

Visited this venue a few weeks back with my fiance and closest friends found the staff and management to be very polite the toilets were well maintained and clean would be nice to see Weatherspoons adopt a few drink deals and maybe on a Sunday have a local singer/artist in the provide nice background music food was okay and tables cleanish overall a good place

Visited this pub last year and was not happy as was asked to leave for no apparent reason so unfortunately you guys get the thumbs down maybe replace the management as to be honest the regular staff are okay

Visited several times over the last year ( 2012 ) and twice this year ( 2013 ) staff cheerful food reasonable toilets okay except late Friday Saturday nights no loud music so if you want a pint and a chat worth a visit

An older type spoons, but we had no problems with it. Beers were good small toilets, staff were ok and friendly enough with us. Food was ok and service. The only downside was quite a few strange alcho types, sat in one area so thats ok, thats what pubs are for, years ago all pubs had them, now some have no customers at all!

Visited this pub on 5 occasions to see the difference staff etc make Breakfast lovely and reasonable price filled me up and I am a big lad quiet during the week but then most places are was quite busy Friday & Saturday but then it is a feeder for the nightclub next door ( see listing ) Staff friendly though some what slow drinks good price and enjoyable no loud music but punters sometimes rowdy toilets clean but small in summary good feeder so added to my crawl

Reasonsble beer, but ghastly clientelle.

Went in the other day for the first time in ages and walked straight out again, flilthy, glasses everywhere and full of idiots and drunks. This place is everything that is wrong with JDW.
if you want to get into this place you must first fight your way through the smokers stood on the steps and around the door....a disappointing Weatherspoons outlet full of the towns winos and because of the adjoining nightclub is the last stop for the clubbing set
The only word for this plastic pub is shabby, shabby interior, customers, shabby poorly trained staff and unless you have a couple of hours to spare forget about food. And why pretend to have a huge range of ales when invariably there are only one or two actually on
This has got to be the worst Wetherspoons pub on the planet! If they've got cask beer it probably isn't in very good nick. Did you know that they sell it so cheap because they buy stock that is about to go out of date? You can tell! Because it opens so early in the morning (9.00ish), it is soon full of .... well you know .... those kind of people!
Slow service. If you are in a group you will be lucky if you all get your meals at the same time. Cheap beer isnt everything.
Typical Wetherspoon's. Very cheap beer and quite tidy (almost sterile), no music (a good thing for some). Attracts the power drinkers but surprisingly little trouble. (one of the few pubs with a high evening turnover that does not have doormen, asks the question do we really need doormen or are they more of an invitation for trouble?) Good priced food but often runs out of dishes and very slow service at the bar (exrememly frustrating). If you need the toilet... wait until your next pub.
Food: Good price, good quality. Decor: Tidy & clean (but a bit sterile) Toilets: Disgusting & extermely smelly Service: Very slow, the odd smile would be nice

A typical Wetherspoons, but there were staff serving so there was not too much of a wait. They did have guest beers on over their usual range and it was in good condition.
recently refurbished moved the smoking area to the rear of the large open plan room.....slow service...supplies of real ales hit and miss as they run out quickly...food menu revamped..plenty of choice....
Big converted Post Office, a large barn of a place. Typical Wetherspoons but with really, and I mean really, bad toilets. Its difficult to actually get served most of the time, but it is one place in Banbury to get the odd guest beer. The Real Ale is variable, mostly served too cold. Having said all this it would be on any Banbury crawl so it does have obvious benefits too.
Okay for an after work pint, but big and soul-less. Too smokey, no music, zero atmosphere but hey, cheap beer! Yep - typcial big chain pub. Gary 06 is right that it needs tarting up majorly.
el-capitano is spot on about Friday and Saturday night but then what else would you expect from a place that supply's beer at working mens club prices. No matter what time you go into the place it has it's hard core professional drinkers section if you know what I mean. The food is good value for money though but the whole place is well over due a makeover.
A Wetherspoons like any other Wetherspoons. Tends to be understaffed so you may end up waiting for your food. Don't go on Friday or Saturday evenings as the place turns into chav heaven at that point.
