Couldn't have been made more welcome by the landlord. There were a few of us there for the oxford v Gateshead match and the landlord let us leave our car in the car park while we went to the game. Great pub, with great staff. Very impressed.

The pub used to be a Gales pub but changed to Fullers when Fullers bought Gales a while back.
I'd have to disagree with the generally positive reviews of this place. A boring interior, bizarrely divided into two separate bars in the last few years for no good reason. The entrance from the car park is very untidy and they could smarten both that and the corridor between the two bars.
Normally only seems to have a couple of the Fuller's range on, normally including Pride which I think is my least favourite Fullers ale (in its defence, I have seen occasional guest ales). The Sunday night quiz is very good, but they blot their copybook by not serving food in the evening. Could be much much better than it is.

A lively local that attracts all sorts at different times of the day. Sky sports/quiz night/reasonable food all contributes to this I think. Gales' beers were on tap when I was there, not Fullers', has there been a change? Useful all-rounder without excelling in any way.

Good beer, large plates of food not too noisy for me, well recommended.

Decent Fullers pub which does an extended menu. Popular Sunday lunches. Set in three rooms with a large garden, car park and playground for kids. Live sports in main bar. No smoking section. Has now introduced live music on an irregular basis. Checkout the popular quiz on a Sunday night. On the downside piped music is played in the rear room which I found annoying. Overall....Reccomended
