Quite a rowdy place when Castleford are playing and it actually shows it on the tv which is surprising for wetherspoons. Good selection of local ale in good form.

The 3rd and final pub that needed 'ticking' in Castleford before I went off to the Jungle for the game, this is the only 'spoons in Castleford (Xscape don't count!).
Busier than normal due to a big crowd expected for the RL game just down the road, plenty of staff behind the bar and they served the waiting hordes well.
Last weekend of the beer festival and the choice of ale was fairly decent though my 2nd beer choice run out mid way through pouring!
This used to be the Post Office according to local reports and the pub takes it's name from the industry that the town used to have.
All in all a decent 'spoons

a good selection of real ales and food pretty good I like the layout of this pub always call when in castleford

Cheap and relatively cheerful - it's a 'spoons, so the McDonalds of alehouses, but a decent enough choice of beers. Just avoid the punters that have been there since breakfast time.

With Spoons, you know what you are going to get.
In the area on a bit of a crawl and this Spoons had a bigger selection of ales than that in Pontefract.

Not as good as some other spoons. A bit dated, but a good choice of beers and the staff seemed happy enough. No parking anywhere near exept if you pay in the nearby carpark. Saturday afternoon was quite busy when we went, didnt try the food so cant comment, but plenty were eating. Would visit again.

Beer range and quality were good and staff were attentive. Short measuring pints seems de rigeur though.

Not impressed with this place. 1~ Could do with a revamp/redecorate. 2~ The toilet floor was decidedly tacky and your shoes nearly stuck to it. 3~ The spoon with the coffee looked as though it had been used as a tyre lever and for digging potatoes. 4~ Staff very dis-organised. Best avoided.
