Still closed and up for sale.
Beginning to fall apart and looks really neglected bordering on derelict. The Starbucks that was in one small corner of the building has now closed down as well.

Unfortunately this place has being going downhill for decades and has now closed down. Looks like it is to become a Starbucks. Another piece of traditional and historic English character converted into a dull global chain.

went for a crafty pint.. stayed and had a few!! nice place shame about the chavs and the crap r'n'b music. i shall return!!

I agree with the last posting, in the 80/90s this was a top bar not it is a waste of time. Rather sad really.

Once the town's top hotel, now a rather sad hang-out for kids with nothing much to do. Yuk!
