Now closed, going to reopen as a 'Bar Copa' - so don't expect any ale, but a few foreign lagers.
To be honest, this place has been going nowhere for a while, so no great surprises. And no great loss.

Manageress gone to Cardiff, beer range and quality gone with her by the looks of things.
Only one ale on the Saturday evening before last, with no plans for any others! In a venue of this size - what a joke!
Not worthwhile any longer.

This place is definitely on the turn. Went there mid summer and it was empty, bit busier last time. Good choice of ales but a very tight quiz box.
I hear the food is decent too.

New bar manageress seems to be taking the place in a better direction. A good amount of GK ales on the go, the heating was on and the quizzer has been overhauled - and more customers and atmosphere as a result!

Only ever seems to be busy here on Friday nights, when it also gets very smoky. There's a tiny "no smoking area" at the front but when I went there yesterday I saw (and smelt) an ex member of staff & his mate merrily puffing away. Two other customers asked them to move but they took no notice. I felt compelled to chuck half a pint of my Timothy Taylor's Landlord over one of them. That seemed to do the trick!

Greene King outlet, big, spacious and wood-panelled. Couple of Real Ales on (IPA and the Brewery Formerly Known As Ridleys). Long hike to the bogs, and devoid of customers, despite it being 8pm on a Saturday! Probably becuase it was so cold. Worth a pint, but not worth going out of the way for.

Not an aussie in sight? Surely thats a positive thing strewth. Not a bad pub, no aggro, the landlord is a top bloke, the staff are friendly however I do agree with the toilets being miles away - bit tricky if on a major session. They could also do with a bit of a clean but that aside top banana.

HMMM WIDE OPEN SPACE, LITTLE SEATING, WET FLOORS, TOILETS SEEMINGLY MILES AWAY, NOT ONE AUSSIE IN SIGHT, NO SHRIMPS ON THE BARBIE, NO BARBIE, NO ROLF ON THE JUKEBOX OR EVEN AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DJ. A DISGRACE TO AN AUSTRAILIAN WHO EXPECTED BETTER, STREWTH!

Big, comfortable, friendly pub. What's happening to the downstairs bar?

No longer The Hogshead now The Outlook. Prices seem to be holding although I thought using the small 'non smoking area' for a private party spoilt my last visit.

Comfortable, large pub with good real ale. Used to be pricey, but they've kept their prices flat whilst everywhere else has caught up.

Nice clean, spacious pub. Pool table on the lower level. 3 fruities from what I saw and a quiz machine. Beer is excellent and not overly priced. A good place to follow the Warwick if you are heading from that direction towards town.
