I went to the Woodman for the first time and I was really impressed with everything because the food was hot and you got good value for money. It's very wheelchair friendly and the staff was very polite and helpful.

Pub looks nice but has NO soul, obviously an identikit chain pub catering for the tourist market. Food terrible, two steaks had to be sent back (rare steak was medium, medium steak was well done/cremated), burger was like boot leather. Staff were friendly but that is the only good thing to say about it.

Recent revamp. Plush now. I've only eaten here once but the food was excellent. Service was ok, with the slightly longer waiting time caused by the steak being overcooked to a degree that another had to be cooked. Fortunately it wasn't presented to me (even though I may not have noticed). All in all a good experience.

Now renamed the " Woodman ". Good carvery, recent revap. Car park to and from A31 trunk road to be used with care ( HIGH SPEED Traffic Flow ).

this pub was one of the best in the area, untill september 2005 when wolverhampton and dudley bought it!the food is now poor at best, the once thriving carvery has now closed forever and all entertainment including the pooltable also look doomed!yet another real life example of greedy companies slowly killing our village pubs!thank you w&d
