This Wetherspoons is certainly the best pub in Andover. But it has little competition. It is situated on the town's main shopping street. The interior is the usual bland Wetherspoons. Service was reasonably quick. But as usual, tables were full of glasses and general mess. With a festival currently on, the ale range was probably better than usual - Everards Midland Red, Hook Norton Mind The Gap, Black Sheep Pathmaker, Butcombe Union, Caledonian Brouwerij'Tij Flink, Sharps Doom Bar, Ruddles Best, Greene King Abbot & Oakham Enough Rope. Ciders were Thistly Cross Whisky Cask & Westons Rosie's Pig.

Went in for an early lunch (breakfast menu) the other day. The meal was cooked as I asked for it. I had a pint of "Sign Of Spring" from Netheravon Brewery (Stonehenge Ales), This was green in colour. Top marks for the barmaid for telling me about this before serving it. Despite its colour this was a good pint, well kept and presented.

Popped in here about 3 weeks ago. Weatherspoons right?? Well, I couldn't get served, not because it was busy, but because it only had 1 member of staff working the bar and he was busy sorting food orders!! So I promptly headed for the door. Does nothing for me I'm afraid. There are better drinking establishments in Andover.

Can't rate it much higher, service can be intermittent depdending on staffing and customers. Beers vary from drinkable to downriht bad due to the long range of ales and lack of pull through on many. Still it is the cheapest watering hole in town and long may it remain so. It's a Wetherspoons so no surprise that it is exactly the same format as every other.

Went in there yesterday, only 1 decent real ale on, and the one I wanted wasn't ready yet. The place was full of screaming kids and idiotic chavs, and I found it hard to talk with my family when they were shouting the place. Normally, it's not a bad place to drink, but yesterday was not the best.

All the advantages of a Wetherspoon: very impressive range of cheap cask ales (1.89 / pint) even though hardly anyone's drinking them; cheap meals especially the 2 meal deal; curry night on Thursday; coffee and muffins during the day. By avoiding Fridays and Saturdays you should get a quiet and hassle-free visit, while still benefiting from seeing some real 'babes' parading around with next to nothing on. If that's what you like :-)

Just a cheap watering hole, normally full of Andovers Space Cadets and hard core alcoholics. Not bad real ale selection but never enough pull through so invariably a bad pint. Best to stick to lager. Crammed on Fri/Sat nights with all the kids before they go clubbing. Very much chav central

Cheap and poor quality. Welcome to Andover.
|
Full of chavs and their Britneys and Brooklyns
|
Bad even by Wetherspoons standards. 3 out of 4 beers were off and the pint I did have was awful.
|
Spent quiet a time there trying to get served.....and, in looking around me....I suddenly knew where Orcs go to for a drink when they're not trying to destroy the world of men.
It's here.
Welcome to Orc central.

Oh dear. This should be so much better than it is. Cheap beer of variable quality but it takes an eternity to be served (and not just on Friday and Saturday nights). The area around the bar is more reminiscent of a high street arcade parlour than a pub. There is something about this place that results in it having no atmosphere whatsoever. There's just something not quite right about this place.

Altogether Rubbish.
Typical wetherspoons, big place, lots of fruit machines, food is microwaved (my friend used to work there), very clicky staff, but the one major flaw that lets it down.
IT TAKES AGES TO GET SERVED !! No matter when you go in there, lunchtime, nightime. as for weekends dont even bother, your looking at a minimum 15 minute wait.

quite big and good array of drinks at great prices of course, food is pretty standard. think microwave handler not chef.come weekend nights you are hard pushed to get served due to lack of staff.no music, good place to go if you like the fruitys.
|
ALthough the selection of real ales is always excellent the lack of staff mean you wait too long sometimes for service. Pub meals are popular though nothing special.
|
Typical Wetherspoons, lots of beers and cheap too! Very reasonably sized place though never enough bar staff on duty particularly at busier times. Food is little to write home about but is cheap and varied.
|
Great prices, not brilliant beer, good staff, very little atmosphere due to lack of any background music, don't even think of going in after about 8:30 on Friday or Saturday cos the bar gets so packed you will take at least 20 mins to get a drink.
