The John Gilbert, Worsley

the place is now open till 0200am at weekends. it gets packed out, far too busy as they cram as many in as possible. To wait 10-15 minutes to get served is not something it can be proud of. The over-25 age limit admittance is surely a joke? Having said that, its some of the ones over 25 who look like causing problems.

looks good since the refurb, although you would have to go at a quiet period to appreciate it.

The Dog and Partridge, Salford

The pub has been closed down since about March last year following two shooting incidents. It had it licence suspended and fairly strict conditions placed on it if it were to reopen. It looks like no one will take it on as its been up for sale since then. This is hardly surprising.

This was at one time the best pub on the height, those days long gone. It now leaves three holts pubs fighting over trade.

Moorings, Boothstown

Along with previous reviwers, the food experience was not good. Paid two visits , one in summer, the other about 6 weeks ago. Both times service was slow and the food was at best below average in terms of value and quality.

Still surprised to see it closed down, there again the canal boats are not enough to keep it going.
