I hadn't visited the George for years so was gobsmacked when went in recently.
It has been revamped to a high standard and has a nice comfortable feel to it.
I have been three times in all and encountered live music two out of the three times.
Beer was excellent, home made scotch eggs were to die for. Have heard that food there is very good.
Fingers crossed they can keep it up

Couldn't agree more with previous contributor.
Lovely refurb, great beer (they had 6 on I think on my visit).
Nice to see a few new decent pubs in the city.
