The Hobgoblin, Bath

After a lovely weekend in Bath my partner and I popped in the the hobgoblin after hearing it was a rock bar. 1 1/2 pints in and we were told we weren't getting served any more due to my being too drunk! Totally bemused by this we asked why, only to be told by the landlady that her decision was final with no reasoning whatsoever. I can only assume that we weren't local enough. The whole hostile experience really ruined our trip to
Bath. Interestingly I have just read many similar reviews about this bar on trip advisor - people getting asked to leave for no good reason. I'm not sure what the landlady's problem is but I'd steer clear of this one. It's like something out of The League Of Gentlemen! I suggest going to The West Gate for a for a more welcoming pub experience, which is where we went after and were served with no problem whatsoever by very friendly staff.
