Cafe Bar Contemporary, Nottingham

I was pleasantly surprised by this place, most art gallery cafes are quite boring & badly run, but not in this case. The service is good (importantly unpretentious!), the decor is quirky & maybe not to everyone's taste, but I quite like the exposed concrete in the interior of the buildling & it's refreshing among the identikit Ha Ha/Living Room type places in the area. The food is excellent, though moderate portioning as opposed to 'fill your face', I thoroughly recommend the fish & chips (it's all in the batter). Furthermore it offers the oppurtunity to enjoy a really nice pint of Castle Rock ale in an outdoor space, away from the throngs of say, the Canalhouse on a sunny day.
