The Plough Inn, Hathersage

Made the mistake of visiting for lunch at 1pm on a Sunday of Bank holiday weekend Told we would have to wait 10 minutes for a table, which we did and then they tried to squeeze 4 adults on a table which could only sit 3. We were moved at our request to a larger table, but then had to wait 55 minutes from when they took our order (3 Roast diners & a Cod & Chips)
Chips over cooked and mushy peas were very dry and inedible. The roast dinners and cod were good as was the beer.
The meal arrived 5 minutes after I complained. No apology was given by the staff. When I payed my bill and the manager asked if everything was okay, I told him about the 55 minute wait. No apology from him but a comment that he had not expected 500 people for meals today!
(I don't think 500 people had been in his pub today? Who is he kidding?)
Very disapointed particularly as it is 'Johansens' recommended.
