The Caledonia, Liverpool

Like the other reviews, definitely a different pub these days, but does maintain its charm and personality! In the afternoons its a nice quiet pub to read the paper and enjoy the food on offer (tasty, good portion sizes and a simple but varied menu, love the moroccan meatballs). We often go on Fridays for the jazz (although not as you know it!) every other week and alternate Sundays for amazing bluegrass and fun with Loose Moose String Band. But fear not the live music is always carefully selected in here (no rubbish!) and is not every night anyway and is well advertised. The real best bits of the Caledonia are the warm welcome and excellently kept, frequently changing real ales. WISH this was my local, as my only complaint is its not near enough my house!
