The Bricklayers Arms, Hitchin

The Bricklayers is now under totally new ownership and has undergone a full refurbishment. There is a selection of ales from B&T of Shefford plus Wells Youngs and various guests. Well worth a visit if you enjoy real ale.

The Maltings, York

From the outside, this pub may not look particularly invititing but it is DEFINTELY worth a visit. A great choice of well kept ales, imported beers and good value food. When visiting York, I usually arrive by train and this pub is just a five minute walk from the station. Don't miss it.

The Sunrunner, Hitchin

What has happened here? I used to visit regularly, but now don't bother. Even on a quiet day it takes ages to get served -the staff only want to serve the regulars in the back bar area and the beer quality and choice is really poor.
