Nice beer (3 or 4 types of Harveys on cask, all seemed well looked after), and you can see what they've tried to do with the place. Unfortunately they've not managed to get the decor right, and as other people say, it feels very depressing and soulless inside. Looks not disimilar to the worst sort of grim Greene King town local.

What a dive. Really dirty. Full of muppets. Beer tasted like vinegar. Shame because it's a lovely old building.

The Snowdrop, Lewes
In any other town this size this pub would be a godsend, in Lewes it's probably not worth the walk out of the town centre (when you've got the JHT, Lewes Arms and Gardeners already). The Snowdrop has good beer, nice decor, but feels a bit too foody if you're only drinking (and the food is nice but not amazing if you're eating).
