The Cross Keys Inn, Peterborough

Drab, tired and somewhat unwelcoming. The last comments mention a refurb - ok, they are dated 2007 but do pubs go downhill that fast??Just moved to the area and popped in with the family, including small dog. Served by man who was happy to take our order and money, no mention of dog. Woman comes to bar and tells us we must sit outside with dog (unlike Falcon Inn at Fotheringay which allows well dogs in small side bar - which is possible at the Cross Keys). It's a country pub where loads of people are out walking with their dogs so why no provision? Been told by neighbours that the food is average and overpriced so looks like will have to drive to Apethorpe or Fotheringay in future.
