Agreed. This place can really suffer on busy days...sunny Sundays particularly. But have experienced nothing but friendly and helpful service, well-poured beer and the food is good even on rough days. Brought my entire family here from various ends of the country for the annual Xmas get-together and was pretty nervous about what they'd think. No one was disappointed. Phew!

The Angel, Roehampton

A museum piece. There are pubs like this featuring in episodes of the Sweeney. My gilrfriend wandered in here on her own once and seriously ordered a Kir Royale. Ha ha ha ha ha

The Rising Sun, Moseley Green

Great pub. Cheap and cheerful but super-friendly and welcoming. Went there after Xmas and counted 6 fake bling Xmas trees inside. Great!!! Real treat after plodding through a muddy forest
