The Star Tavern, Belgravia

This is still a great pub but I wish they would stock one of Fuller's dark beers, even if it's Gales HSB which is only "half dark". Having said that, the London Pride was on very good form - far better than you find it in most free houses.

Harvey's are giving up the lease on this pub. Dom and Tony from the Snowdrop in Lewes will be taking it on in the New Year. They intend to keep it as a village local and it will be free of tie, so expect a similar range of beers to that at the Snowdrop, i.e. some Harvey's beers, some Dark Star and guest ales from other Sussex microbreweries. Changes of licensees at favourite pubs can be a worry but in this case I don't think we have anything to fear.

The Horns Lodge, South Chailey

I can confirm that there were two ciders on (in the pub) when I visited during the festival. 5 is not a bad price for a beer festival these days and, as stated below, the proceeds went to charity, so don't be such a Scrooge! This is one of my favourite pubs in the area. I just wish the bus service was better so I could visit more often!
