Myself and usually about 4 of my mates travel to different towns by train to experience the nearest pubs. have visited Bath, Swansea, Cardiff, hereford and Oxford so far.Apart from Oxford and Swansea which seem to have consistently good beer and pubs, the other places range from dire to poor.

Visited Sat, think its now called Mulligans or some such. Lively pub with live music, though not much on real ale

Wyndham Arms, Bridgend
Stayed over here and started a crawl, good selection of real ales (about 5 or 6) at decent prices and quality, food was good value as well. Could do with more bar staff as there were only 2 who were dealing with food orders and drink orders.
