The Anchor Inn, Godalming

In there last night and have to say it is a fairly below par boozer.

All very well that it hasn't turned into a Slug & Lettuce identikit boozer and to its credit the interior is tidy enough (cleanliness lacking a bit though...). And it is a good old fashioned drinking pub if that makes sense...

However the bogs are straight out of the Trainspooting film - Absolute filth. Decor, seats and bar area look as though they have not had a lick of paint or a spring clean for a few years too. Didn't get a chance to see the quoted garden so will reserve judgement there for a while.

Fine for a quick drink on the way into town - Wouldn't stay in there too long though

Popped in there this weekend - Refurb has made quite a difference, lots of room, bit comfy sofa type things, just probably needs a few more punters in there.

Excellent bar staff by the way, very friendly, service with a smile and always helpful if you want a cocktail / shot or two
