The Hope, Richmond

The Hope is a fab little gem - almost the only decent pub in Richmond now. It has class, sophistication, an air of loveliness. It's a breath of fresh air, and the staff are fun and the new owners are simply bonkers.

If you'd like a genteel evening in the sunshine, just sit out in the garden with the perfect G&T and enjoy!

St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets

I so agree with vic20. Knew Oisin back in his Marlborough days which he did wonders with [excellent kangarro steaks]. Can't believe how amazingly well he transformed the St Mags as I've lived here forever - formerly it was a dive but Oisin transformed it - it was brilliant...a proper rugby pub.

Since he's gone, Charlie did a fab job for a month [and oh so cute too!], but since then, welcome to Chav city! Was famous for not being a football pub - but the new manager has completely knocked that on the head. It's now loud, raucous, rowdy, has lost all its atmosphere. The staff are useless and can barely understand a 'G & T' - gave me one last night with no lemon or lime and every refill glass was hot. They really couldn't care less - foods still good but please get rid of the riff raff and put in a manager who understands customer service!
