The Barmy Arms, Twickenham

Now the location of this pub is splendid, right on the river & great for a cold one on a hot summers eve. The beer's not too bad either.

Unfortunately that's where my enthusiasm ends. As well as slow, harassed looking & a little rude, the bar-staff are generally hopeless. Now my view is that this is the management's fault, especially as I've seen the way the couple who I assume run/own the pub talk to staff like theyre excrement. Not called for & not professional at the front of shop.

Interesting to hear that youre not allowed in with football shirts, especially as theres always a bevy of rugby shirts in there on a match day. Also interesting is the fact that they give you a crappy plastic glass if you go outside but are happy for you to take a bottle out. Sums up the idiocy of this place.

My advice, get a 4 pack & sit just opposite by the river. This pub, to be blunt, is utter dog toilet.

The Worlds End, Finsbury Park

Such a shame because, in the late 90s, this was a cracking pub with a vibrant music scene. Last time I popped in with a few friends I thought we might not get out alive. It is indeed Chav central....
