Robert de Mortain, Hastings

The problem with the Robert is that it keeps changing hands. I have lived next to it now for just over 2 years and they have had four new landlords in this time.
The staff in there have their own friends but still find time to chat. It has a lovely garden and Hastings Rock is presented from there and that is good fun. I think this pub has really good potential.
The pub is known as the pub of death as it is just down the road from the crematorium and does lots of wakes so this is good for business.
As I speak it is closed for anotheer refurbishment.

The Oddfellows Arms, Hastings

I lived within five minutes of this pub for four years recently and have never been in a pub where I feel so intimidated. I went there every weekend for a few drinks and found the staff to be very rude and the amount of coke snorted in the toilets was unbelievable.
The place has really gone down hill since Lee and Lorraine left as they did not put up with any of this.
Fighting is common place.

The Royal Standard, Hastings

I have visited this pub many times over the years. George the land lord is the longest serving landlord in the town.
He is a down to earth guy and has changed things as needed over the years. It used to be a big darts pub and locals pub and now he has got rid of the dart board and has live music every weekend.
He always has good friendly staff and the cellar is always very clean and the food that Beryl does is lovely.
I hope he stays there a long time.
