Excellent pub - lovely landlord and landlady - very friendly and great choice of ale. Well worth a visit.

The Bird In Hand Hotel, Lower Stondon

Have been to this pub several times since it has re-opened. Not very impressed. IPA has been off twice and the public bar is very small and music is very loud. Large carvery area which always seems to be empty and slow service. Food average - could do better. A good pub if you want a pint while waiting for a taxi but not for all evening!! Shame as it has potential. Seems like the new landlord has put all his effort into cheap carvery food rather then catering for good ale, bar snacks for the every increasing local area........
