The Falcon, Clapham Junction

Completely disappointed by this pub. I have lived in Battersea for my whole 24 years and have never once been in here. My husband and I decided to go after reading reviews. We were trying to find a new 'local' and thought The Falcon could be a good prospect. When we arrived there wasn't as much seating as you would expect from the size of the pub but this didn't put us off, we found a good seat and ordered some soft drinks while we looked through the food menu. I had the sausages and mash as this was highly advertised as a 'speciality' my husband had the steak and chips which he asked to be done medium-rare. Our meals arrived, my sausages were burnt, the mash was real mash but clearly just microwaved re-heated and the parsnip 'crisps' were more dried and chewy. My husbands steak was more than well done and he had about 12 cold chips. We thought this could just be an 'off' day for the pub so decided to give it a fair go and have a beer each, both of which came up short, you pay for a pint, you expect a pint, nothing less. After a while we decided that after our first pint of beer we'd try a bottle of wine. However this soon changed when the manager, who was having a meeting with some people on the next table to us, came over and took one of our chairs without any kind of acknowledgement. Admittedly we weren't waiting for anyone else to join us but when in a bar even if another customer wants a chair from your table it is common courtesy to ask if it is free, however this did not happen. We decided to leave the remainder of our drinks and leave to the next nearest pub. I will never be trying this pub again. Must add that this was in the afternoon around 2pm of a weekday when they weren't very busy.
